Hampton, Virginia About the Position We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced chef who specializes in authentic Jamaican cuisine and has a passion for bringing the true flavors of Jamaica to the table. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience preparing traditional Jamaican dishes using authentic seasonings, marinades, cooking techniques, and recipes. We are looking for someone who understands the culture behind the cuisine and takes pride in delivering flavorful, high-quality meals that keep customers coming back for more. Responsibilities Prepare authentic Jamaican dishes, including jerk chicken, oxtails, curry goat, rice and peas, and traditional Jamaican sides. Prepare authentic Jamaican jerk marinades, spice blends, sauces, and seasonings from scratch. Maintain consistent food quality, flavor, presentation, and portion control. Follow food safety, sanitation, and kitchen cleanliness standards. Assist with menu development, food preparation, inventory, and kitchen operations. Work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Qualifications Proven professional experience preparing authentic Jamaican cuisine is required. Strong knowledge of traditional Jamaican ingredients, spices, and cooking methods. Ability to prepare meats, sauces, marinades, and sides from scratch. Excellent time management, organization, and teamwork skills. ServSafe certification is preferred, or willingness to obtain certification.
