Job Description
$20-$22/hour + Tips | Full-Time | Room for Growth Kindred Public House is looking for an experienced Sous Chef to join our kitchen leadership team. We're looking for more than just a strong cook. We want an experienced kitchen leader who is looking for a place to stick around, invest themselves, and help us continue building Kindred over the next several years. This is a working Sous Chef. Your main priority will be cooking and helping lead the line during service. We need someone who can jump on a station, set the pace, communicate, stay composed when we get slammed, and help make the people around them better. You'll work closely with our Kitchen Manager and ownership to continue improving our kitchen, our systems, and our team. What We're Looking For Strong line cooking experience in a high-volume kitchen Previous kitchen leadership or management experience Ability to confidently work and lead multiple stations Someone who leads by example and isn't afraid to jump in wherever needed Strong communication and organization High standards for food quality, consistency, cleanliness, and ticket times Ability to train, coach, and develop other cooks Dependable, accountable, and able to stay composed under pressure Someone who takes pride in the kitchen and cares about the success of the entire team Most importantly, someone looking for a long-term opportunity who wants to help build something What You'll Be Doing The majority of your time will be spent working alongside the crew and helping drive the line during service. You'll also help with: Training and developing kitchen staff Maintaining food quality and consistency Prep and kitchen organization Ticket times and execution during busy services Opening and closing standards Inventory and product organization Cleanliness and food safety Supporting the Kitchen Manager with day-to-day kitchen operations Continuing to improve our systems as we grow About Kindred Kindred Public House is a locally owned neighborhood restaurant and bar in Spokane. We built Kindred around great food, a strong bar, and creating a place people in our community want to come back to. We're still building. We're looking for someone who wants to become an important part of our leadership team and help us continue pushing the restaurant forward. We aren't looking for someone who plans on being here for six months and moving on to the next kitchen. Ideally, we want to find someone who can see themselves at Kindred for the next couple of years or longer. There is also room to grow financially. The starting range for this position is $20-$22/hour plus tips, with the opportunity to earn more as you prove yourself, take on additional responsibility, and become a bigger part of our leadership team. If you're an experienced kitchen leader who can cook, lead from the front, and wants an opportunity to help build something rather than simply punch a clock, we'd like to meet you.
