We are a long term and proven Spokane staple, with a tenured reputation of family friendly, fast, quality service with an emphasis on guest satisfaction. We pride ourselves in our "from scratch" approach to our menu, our family forward approach to the dining experience, and our compassionate dedication to our staff. A successful assistant manager oversees the operations of the front of house, while assisting and keeping communication with the back of house operations. Qualified candidates will have these qualities:
- Leadership The ability to effectively lead with both consistency with our Tomato Street ethos, but also by being a strong example for what we consider to be an ideal employee.
- Attitude Having a consistent, positive attitude is important, not just for us, but for the industry in general. Any restaurant comes with its share of unexpected challenges that a qualified manager invites with cool candor.
- Coachability We have a strong team of managers who have been dedicated to Tomato Street for many years, and with that comes experience that a qualified candidate will absorb, both through osmosis but also through thorough and varied training through all applicable functions of the restaurant.
- Communication A big part of our team's success is rooted in our ability to effectively communicate with both our fellow managers, but also our staff members.
We believe that in order to provide consistent and excellent service to our guests, we have to keep open and honest channels of communication at all times. With a large team divided between front and back of house, each with distinct responsibilities, strong communication is required in order to facilitate a good work flow.
- Compassion With a team of one hundred employees, it is critical to approach each situation with the kind of compassion that it takes to have an open mind and the understanding needed to support each individual and point them in the direction of success.
A great majority of our employees are long-term employees that could only have been earned through a compassionate approach to leadership. Other important, but less notable qualifications include:
- Open availability.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to multitask.
- Familiarity with POS systems.
