Job Description

We are looking for a PM Sous Chef to join the opening team at The Loyal in Tacoma.

The menu will bring together an oyster bar, upscale small plates, and exceptionally executed family-style fried chicken. It will be seafood-driven, energetic, and a little more exploratory with a smaller, tightly focused menu and a strong emphasis on execution.

The PM Sous Chef will own dinner service and the nightly close while serving as the Executive Chef's most trusted operational partner.

The Sous Chef should be comfortable working the line, directing service, coaching cooks in real time, managing the close, and stepping into whatever station or responsibility is needed to keep the kitchen operating at a high level.

This is a PM position, generally 2 p.m. to close, five days per week.

The position requires flexibility on Fridays and Saturdays, availability to work on the Executive Chef's nights off, and the ability to help cover staffing gaps when necessary.

Compensation$32-$34/hour, plus overtime. At a typical 40-45 hour workweek, total annual earnings are approximately $70,000-$80,000, depending on hourly rate and hours worked.
