Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Sushi Chef or Sushi Assistant to join our dynamic culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing authentic sushi dishes with precision and artistry, ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. Whether leading the sushi station or assisting in food preparation, your energy and culinary expertise will contribute to delivering an exceptional dining experience for our guests. Duties Prepare a variety of sushi and sashimi with skillful knife techniques, maintaining consistency and presentation standards Assist in menu planning and ingredient selection to ensure freshness and authenticity of sushi offerings Operate kitchen equipment such as rice cookers, slicers, and refrigeration units safely and efficiently Follow strict food safety sanitizing procedures to uphold hygiene standards and prevent contamination Contribute to high-volume food production during busy service hours while maintaining quality control Support food handling and preparation tasks including poaching, braising, grilling, and food production as needed Ensure adherence to recipe specifications and portion control for uniformity across all dishes Experience Previous dietary aide or culinary experience in a restaurant or fine dining setting is highly preferred Demonstrated proficiency in food preparation techniques such as poaching, braising, grilling, and knife skills Experience with food safety management practices, including sanitizing procedures and proper food handling Familiarity with menu planning, meal preparation, and catering operations within the food industry Strong background in operating kitchen equipment safely in high-volume production environments Prior experience working in a dietary department or food service environment is advantageous Knowledge of food safety regulations and ability to maintain cleanliness standards at all times Join us if you're eager to bring your culinary talents to life in a vibrant setting where quality, safety, and guest satisfaction are at the forefront.
