Job Description
Golden Mast Inn | Okauchee Lake, Wisconsin Golden Mast Inn is looking for a talented and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team. Located on beautiful Okauchee Lake, Golden Mast Inn is a family-owned Lake Country destination known for exceptional food, warm hospitality, lakefront dining, and a one-of-a-kind atmosphere. Our kitchen combines high-quality ingredients with classic techniques, creative seasonal dishes, and the German heritage that makes Golden Mast unique.
THE OPPORTUNITY
As Sous Chef, you will work directly alongside our Executive Chef and play an important role in the daily operation of the kitchen. You will help lead a high-volume, full-service culinary operation while maintaining our standards for quality, consistency, presentation, sanitation, and hospitality.WHAT YOU'LL DO
Work closely with the Executive Chef to execute daily kitchen operations and maintain culinary standards Lead and support the kitchen team during high-volume service Assist with menu development, specials, and seasonal dishes Bring creativity and a strong understanding of ingredients, flavors, and cooking techniques Ensure consistent preparation, portioning, plating, and presentation Maintain a clean, organized, and professional kitchen Follow and enforce proper food safety and sanitation procedures Help with ordering, inventory, prep planning, and kitchen organization Train, coach, and develop culinary team members Communicate effectively with both the kitchen and Front of House teams Troubleshoot problems during service and quickly develop practical solutions Help maintain a positive kitchen culture built around teamwork, accountability, and hospitality Assist with catering, banquets, weddings, and special events as neededWHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

You understand that what happens in the kitchen directly impacts the guest experience. Team Player You work well with cooks, chefs, servers, bartenders, managers, and the entire Front of House team. Problem Solver When something goes wrong, you don't just point it out. You help find the solution.EXPERIENCE
Previous experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant kitchen Sous Chef or strong Lead Cook experience preferred Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations Catering, banquet, or event experience is a plus Culinary degree or formal culinary training is a plus, but not required Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environmentWHAT WE OFFER
