Carmel, California Schedule:
Part-time, approximately 20 hours per week with opportunity to grow CarmelBarre is seeking a warm, highly organized, and proactive Studio Manager to oversee the studio's day-to-day operations. For 13 years, CarmelBarre has offered effective, welcoming barre classes while building a loyal and connected community. We are looking for someone who will take genuine ownership of the studio experience and help ensure that everything—from the class schedule and instructor communication to client service and studio presentation—runs smoothly. This is a hands-on role for someone who notices what needs to be done and takes initiative. The Studio Manager will work closely with the owner while independently handling most daily studio operations. Key Responsibilities Studio Operations Oversee the studio's day-to-day operations Open or close the studio as needed Ensure the space is consistently clean, organized, stocked, and welcoming Monitor supplies and coordinate ordering and basic maintenance Identify and resolve operational issues promptly Maintain studio procedures, records, and checklists Scheduling and Instructor Support Manage the class schedule and instructor coverage Coordinate substitutions and respond to last-minute scheduling needs Communicate regularly with instructors and help keep the team informed Support instructor onboarding, training, and ongoing team development Help maintain consistency in the CarmelBarre client experience Client Experience Welcome clients and create a friendly, personal studio environment Respond to client questions by phone, email, text, and in person Assist with memberships, packages, reservations, account questions, and studio policies Address client concerns thoughtfully and professionally Build relationships with current clients and help new clients feel comfortable Follow up with prospective, new, and returning clients Membership and Studio Growth Support membership sales and client retention Explain class options, packages, promotions, and memberships Follow up on inquiries and prospective-client leads Help develop and execute promotions, challenges, events, and community partnerships Assist with social media, email communication, and other local marketing efforts Track studio activity and share useful updates with the owner Administrative Support Assist with routine reporting, billing follow-up, and account maintenance Keep client and instructor information accurate and up to date Help document and improve studio systems and processes Handle other day-to-day needs that arise in a small, independently owned business Qualifications Experience in studio management, fitness, wellness, hospitality, retail, or another client-focused business preferred Experience with Momence, or a similar software Strong organizational and time-management skills Excellent written and verbal communication Confident handling client questions, concerns, and sales conversations Comfortable learning scheduling, membership, email, and point-of-sale systems Able to prioritize, solve problems, and work independently Dependable, detail-oriented, and responsive Current fitness, barre, Pilates, or group-fitness teaching experience is a bonus. Candidates who are qualified to teach may also have opportunities to lead classes in addition to their management responsibilities. Schedule and Availability This position is approximately 20 hours per week with opportunity to grow and requires regular on-site availability. The schedule will include a combination of weekday hours, early mornings, evenings, and weekends based on studio needs. Applicants must have some evening and weekend availability. Occasional flexibility may be needed when instructor coverage issues, special events, or other time-sensitive studio needs arise. The range is $25- $34. Pay:
