Per Diem Visitor Services Associate Bruce Museum - 3.7 Greenwich, CT Job Details Part-time $18 - $20 an hour 10 hours ago Benefits Employee discount Qualifications High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Job Summary The Per Diem Visitor Services Associate plays a key role in creating a welcoming and positive experience for visitors to the Bruce Museum. This frontline, as-needed position provides coverage for Visitor Services primarily on weekends, as well as occasional weekdays, evenings, holidays, and special events based on Museum staffing needs. Hours are scheduled on an as-needed basis and are not guaranteed. Responsibilities Welcome visitors to the Museum with a friendly and professional demeanor, providing information about exhibitions, programs, memberships, and amenities. Process admissions, memberships, retail transactions, and other payments accurately using the Museum's point-of-sale and ticketing systems. Answer visitor inquiries in person, by phone, and by email, providing accurate information about Museum hours, admissions, memberships, exhibitions, and upcoming events. Assist visitors with accessibility accommodations, stroller and coat check services, and other guest needs. Support Museum operations by maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming admissions area. Monitor visitor flow and help ensure adherence to Museum policies, safety procedures, and visitor guidelines. Communicate with Visitor Services staff, Security, Facilities, and other departments to address visitor needs and resolve issues promptly. Promote Museum memberships, programs, events, and other visitor engagement opportunities. Remain knowledgeable about current exhibitions, programs, and Museum offerings. Participate in required training sessions and staff meetings as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous customer service experience required; experience in a museum, cultural institution, hospitality, or retail environment preferred. Demonstrated computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications. Experience with point-of-sale systems and/or database software, such as Altru, preferred. Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently while providing outstanding service in a fast-paced public environment. Availability to work on an as-needed basis, primarily on Saturdays and Sundays, including occasional last-minute coverage. Flexibility to work occasional weekdays, evenings, holidays, and special events as needed is preferred.
