Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Door Person to join our weekend team. The Door Person creates the first impression of the Association to residents, guests, and others, and must therefore exhibit the utmost professionalism and responsiveness in the performance of their duties. Duties Cordially and professionally welcome all residents and guests as they arrive and make appropriate inquiries. Provide assistance and direct all guests to the front desk. Assist residents and their guests by opening vehicle doors upon arrival and departure. Assist with removal of groceries, packages, etc. from vehicle as requested. Be courteous, cooperative and professional at all times. Open doors for everyone entering and exiting the building (both interior lobby and exterior lobby). Assist with packages, groceries, luggage, etc. Keep the front entrance and lobby clean and driveway free of vehicles. Sweep area in drive lane and or lobby as needed (for spills or large areas call janitorial crew). Inform front desk when vehicles stay extends proper time (ten minutes) Install/remove rain mats on lobby floors when directed Spread ice melt materials at entrances when directed Check and shift recycling containers so that recycling bins do not overflow. Check trash containers and move to loading dock if full. Deliver packages, letters, flowers or messages as directed by the Shift Leader on duty. Park cars of guests or anyone else designated by a resident. Ensure keys are marked and kept in safe area. Learn the residents' names and address them as Sir, Mr., Dr., Mrs., Ms. etc. and . If unsure of last name, address persons as Sir or Ma'am. Report any accidents or incidents to the Shift Leader immediately. Relieve the Shift Leader as necessary for breaks. Carry radio at all times and communicate with front desk and others as needed Cell phone use while on duty is prohibited. Perform other duties as assigned by General Manager, Shift Leader or Director of Operations Comply with all the rules and regulations of the Association as set forth in any and all directives from management and with all the job related requirements outlined in the Operations and Personnel Policy Manuals. Requirements Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written English, are essential. Knowledge of basic customer service principles Interest in helping people Dependability Drive automatic(required) and standard shift vehicles(preferred) Valid driver's license High School Education or higher preferred Prior Experience as a Door Person or similar experience A suitable combination of the above Physical Requirements Standing for extended periods of time, sitting, walking Ability to walk up or down several flights of stairs if elevators out of order Lifting and carrying items such as packages, luggage, groceries and rain mats 25lbs+
