6 Dearborn, MI Job Details Full-time 16 hours ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Full-time day shift, 5:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday to Friday. May need to provide support on weekends if needed. Position supports the Surgical Services department at Dearborn hospital. Training will take approximately 2 weeks, and will include shadowing another team member and completing required online modules. Great communication skills are required. This position requires a lot of interaction between patients, families, physicians and nurses. Job Summary As an Guest Relations Associate with Corewell Health, you'll be the first point of contact for patients, families, visitors, and vendors who enter our facility. You'll be responsible for greeting, directing, and responding to inquiries, and use our hospital information system. You'll also assist with transportation services, collaborate with volunteer staff, and maintain the general appearance of the reception area. Join our team and help us provide a welcoming and caring environment for all who enter our doors. Essential Functions Greets visitors, vendors and/or staff promptly and courteously upon arrival. Makes inquiry to determine their needs, confirms appointments, answers inquiries factually and directs or escorts to the proper person or area. Contacts and/or collaborates with Security staff regarding suspicious visitor / patient behavior and difficult families. Alerts appropriate hospital and security staff in the event of the development of an emergency or a potentially dangerous situation with patients and families. Provides direction, escorts or provides wheelchair transport for patients to designated patient care areas as needed. Responds to telephone inquiries, provides factual information, relays information or transfers calls as appropriate. Delivers or arranges for pickup of gifts and flowers to patient rooms or hospital departments. Collaborates with patient reception/registration and security staff to ensure the efficient flow of visitors and patients. Arranges or assists with external transportation services for patients as needed. Maintains the general appearance of the lobby areas. Contacts and reports any liquid spills to environmental or maintenance departments for repairs or cleaning as necessary. Cordon off the spill area to warn and ensure the safety of patient, visitors and staff from slip and falls. Regularly provides direction and guidance to volunteer staff with courtesy and tact. Provides orientation and training to new volunteer staff as requested. Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent 1 year of relevant experience in a direct customer service/reception role Preferred Experience in a hospital setting. Guest relations, hospitality, or concierge experience is highly desired.
