Job Description

Greet, escort, and assist customers in a highly personalized and professional manner. Greets customers and hospital guests and provides with information. Provides information concerning visiting hours, policies, directions, and area. Responds to requests and answers questions from clients, patients, family, community, and staff. Always identifies area and self when answering the telephone or other communication devices. Assesses and provides the customer with appropriate transportation requirements. Responds to assignments through the use of the Capacity Management device. Provides the customer with assistance of transporting personal items. Transfers patient in and out of wheelchair or vehicle using appropriate equipment lift as necessary. Transports/escorts patients by wheelchair or walk to appropriate destination. Escorts patients to correct destinations without unnecessary waiting.

Experience:
Required:
Previous experience in working with the general public using customer relations skills
Preferred:
Previous experience in handling ill patients to and from vehicles, seated positions, and wheelchairs
Required Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
Ability to understand and carry out instructions. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Excellent interpersonal skills with a customer service approach. Able to interact appropriately with a diverse population of customers.
Physical Demands:
Ability to speak and hear for effective communication. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Visual acuity and manual dexterity to process information. Position may require long hours with frequent periods walking. Ability to lift, push, pull, and position patients and equipment.
Work Environment:
Frequent direct visual observation of a computer monitor. Exposure to chemicals, which may be used in patient care and/or patient care areas. Subject to outdoor weather conditions.
