Cleveland Clinic Akron General's new Level II Progressive Care Unit (PCU), provides personalized, high-quality care with a 1:3 RN to patient ratio. This unit cares for patients with a wide range of conditions, including those requiring non-invasive BiPAP, continuous pulse oximetry, insulin infusions, select cardiac or vasoactive drips, chronic tracheostomy ventilation, acute stroke care, spinal drains, transvenous pacemakers, and arterial monitoring. As a Health Unit Clerk in the PCU, you will provide a high level of customer service to patients, families, visitors and employees to promote and support the highest level of patient experience A caregiver in this position works evenings from 3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. including every other weekend rotation and 3 holidays per year requirements. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Perform administrative and clerical duties. Conduct an in-person greeting and welcome newly admitted and transferred patients to the unit. Communicate with and facilitate communication between patients, families, other departments and healthcare team members regarding patient care. Assist with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges. Provide concierge service to assist patients and families with wayfinding and directing them to available resources. Assemble and maintain patient medical records and other documents related to patient care. Troubleshoot equipment. Respond to patient call lights. Keep nursing stations clean and organized. Complete mandatory education and training. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: High School Diploma or GED One year of experience in a customer service-related role Prior job experience with typing or computer training or equivalent coursework Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Microsoft Office experience
