Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Telecommunications Associate is responsible for operating BRC's switchboard to relay incoming, outgoing, and internal calls. This role also serves as the receptionist and central point of contact for residents, staff, visitors, and outside callers.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Note:
Additional duties may be assigned as needed. Answer and direct incoming calls in a timely, courteous manner. Use the internal communication systems—including paging, mobile phones, and radios—to locate staff and relay information. Serve as a central information resource for the organization: Know how to reach on-duty or on-call staff and notify the Administrator on Call when necessary. Handle floral, package, and special deliveries. Direct employment inquiries to the online application process. Stay familiar with emergency protocols and know how to respond in urgent or stressful situations. Perform general administrative tasks such as scanning, emailing, copying, and data entry. Assist residents with basic copy services when needed. Navigate internal software systems and learn required programs to support daily responsibilities.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have any supervisory duties.QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED required.SKILLS AND ABILITIES LANGUAGE SKILLS
Able to read and understand basic instructions, emails, and memos. Comfortable writing and speaking clearly with residents, staff, and visitors.MATH SKILLS
Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.REASONING ABILITY
Able to follow instructions and apply practical problem-solving in routine and sometimes fast-paced situations.TECHNICAL SKILLS
Must be comfortable using a computer and quickly learning new programs required for phone operations, communication tools, and basic clerical tasks.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Regularly required to sit, use hands, talk, hear, and reach with arms. Occasionally required to stand or walk. Must be able to lift or move up to 25 pounds. Requires close vision for computer and phone work.WORK ENVIRONMENT
