Job Description

Role Overview:
The Medical Assistant serves as the primary point of contact for patients, ensuring a seamless and high-quality experience. This role combines administrative, clerical, and clinical duties to optimize workflow, facilitate care coordination, and support clinical staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform patient check-in/check-out, verify insurance, collect payments, and schedule appointments. Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR), logs, and documentation of patient data such as vital signs and medical history. Assist providers with patient information collection, prepare exam rooms, and ensure proper sanitation. Collect and prepare lab specimens, administer medications/vaccinations, and support medical procedures. Conduct follow-up calls post-discharge to ensure patient care continuity.
Qualifications & Skills:
Specialized Diploma or completion of Medical Assistant training; Associate's Degree preferred. Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in EMR systems, MS Word, and Excel. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. Knowledge of clinical workflows, medical terminology, and patient care practices. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days; various medical assistant certifications preferred.
Physical Demands & Additional Info:
Ability to lift/carry 25 lbs., perform activities such as kneeling, bending, and CPR. Role involves frequent sitting, standing, and keyboard use.
