Resident Relations Coordinator Sterling Jasper Properties, Corp Abilene, TX Job Details Full-time $21 - $25 an hour 8 hours ago Benefits Paid time off Qualifications Conflict de-escalation Full Job Description
ABOUT STERLING JASPER PROPERTIES
Sterling Jasper Properties (SJP) delivers temporary workforce housing for construction crews and traveling field workers across Texas. We place teams into fully furnished, high-quality residences so contractors can stay focused on the work rather than the logistics of housing their people. Since our founding, we've grown from concept to a fast-scaling operator, and we're expanding our footprint throughout the Texas market.
Our mission is straightforward:
provide end-to-end temporary workforce housing that gives contractors and occupants genuine peace of mind.
THE ROLE
The Resident Relations Coordinator is the primary point of contact for the residents living in SJP's housing across Texas. This person owns the resident experience day to day — fielding every question, request, and concern that comes in, logging it, and driving it to resolution by working with property owners, vendors, and the internal SJP team. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Resident Relations Coordinator makes sure nothing a resident raises slips through the cracks. They track each issue from the moment it comes in until it's fully resolved, keep residents informed along the way, and surface recurring problems and trends so SJP can get ahead of them. The ideal candidate is a calm, organized, and empathetic communicator who genuinely likes helping people and takes ownership of problems until they're solved. They can juggle many open issues at once, keep clean records, and stay professional under pressure.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Resident Communication & Support Serve as the primary point of contact for residents across the SJP portfolio. Respond promptly and professionally to resident inquiries, requests, and concerns by phone, email, and text. Guide residents through questions about their housing, access, maintenance, and day-to-day needs. Provide clear, timely status updates so residents always know where their issue stands. Deliver a welcoming, respectful, and responsive experience that reflects SJP's standards. Issue Intake & Tracking Log every resident issue, request, and maintenance concern in SJP's systems with complete, accurate detail. Categorize and prioritize issues by urgency and impact. Maintain a single, up-to-date view of all open resident issues across properties. Keep thorough records of communications, actions taken, and resolution status. Issue Resolution & Follow-Through Drive each resident issue to resolution, coordinating with property owners, vendors, and the Property Operations team as needed. Follow up persistently on open items until they are fully resolved and confirmed with the resident. Coordinate maintenance, repairs, and service visits, and keep residents informed of timing. Take ownership of problems end to end rather than handing them off and losing the thread. Property Owner & Internal Coordination Communicate with property owners regarding resident issues, maintenance responsibilities, approvals, and property conditions. Partner closely with the Property Operations Coordinator and internal team to resolve issues that require field support. Escalate urgent, sensitive, or complex issues to the Director of Operations promptly. Maintain professional relationships with residents, property owners, and external partners. Move-In / Move-Out Resident Experience Support residents through move-in and move-out, including welcome communications and access details. Check in with new residents early to catch and resolve any first-week issues. Gather resident feedback at move-out and log any property concerns for follow-up. Reporting, Trends & Administrative Support Track open vs. resolved issues, response and resolution times, and recurring problems. Surface patterns and repeat issues to the Director of Operations so SJP can address root causes. Maintain accurate resident, issue, and communication records within SJP's systems. Complete data entry and keep operational documentation organized and retrievable. Make occasional visits to properties when an issue is best understood or resolved on-site.
QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years of experience in resident relations, customer service, property management, hospitality, or a related customer-facing role. Excellent written and verbal communication — clear, professional, calm, and empathetic. Highly organized, with a proven ability to track many open items and follow each one through to closure. Strong problem-solving and de-escalation skills; stays composed with frustrated or urgent residents. Genuine ownership mentality — you take responsibility for issues until they're resolved. Comfortable coordinating across residents, property owners, vendors, and internal team members. Proficient with email, spreadsheets, data entry, and operational software; quick to learn new tools. Ability to work from the Abilene office with occasional travel to properties as needed.
PREFERRED
Experience in corporate housing, workforce housing, property management, hospitality, or residential operations. Experience using a ticketing, CRM, help-desk, or issue-tracking system. Familiarity with DoorLoop or similar housing/property software. Experience handling maintenance requests or coordinating with vendors and owners.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & AVAILABILITY
Primarily an office-based role in Abilene, with occasional local travel to properties when an issue is best handled on-site (a valid driver's license is helpful). Extended periods working at a computer and on the phone; able to move about the office and occasionally visit properties. Occasional after-hours or weekend availability is required to respond to urgent resident issues.
WHAT WE OFFER
Competitive hourly pay of $21-$25/hour (overtime-eligible) plus paid time off (PTO). A central role owning the resident experience for a rapidly growing workforce housing company. Close collaboration with the Director of Operations and direct impact on how SJP serves its residents. Opportunity for increased responsibility and career growth as SJP expands throughout Texas. A collaborative environment where your follow-through is seen and valued.
