Wednesday acts as the overlapping shift transition day. Job Summary The Concierge / Unarmed Security Guard serves as the primary face and first line of defense for a high-end residential property during the overnight hours. This dual-role position combines premium customer service with rigorous overnight security enforcement. Operating on a 12-hour graveyard schedule (2000-0800) to ensure seamless 7-day property coverage, the ideal candidate must maintain peak vigilance, manage late-night resident requests, enforce guest and vendor access control, and conduct routine property checks to ensure a secure environment throughout the night. Key Responsibilities1.
Access Control & Guest Management Front Desk Coverage:
Greet all residents, guests, and vendors entering or exiting the building. Ensure all visitors check in at the front desk.
Visitor Verification:
Verify guest access via the property management system. Contact residents directly if a guest is not on the pre-approved list; strictly deny entry if no response is received.
Vendor Accountability:
Check out vendor keys using the electronic key management system. Secure and hold a valid physical ID from the vendor until keys are returned.
Lockout Assistance & Late Check-ins:
Facilitate resident lockouts by verifying identification and tracking key distributions. Coordinate late-night check-ins for guest suites according to property protocol. 2.
Security, Patrols, & Surveillance NFC Patrol Tags:
Perform required hourly security checks by scanning designated electronic NFC tags at the front desk and around the property.
Camera Monitoring:
Continuously monitor live camera feeds across multiple dedicated surveillance monitors, watching closely for loitering, trespassing, or illegal activity.
Desk Boundaries:
Maintain a strict professional boundary; designated security personnel must remain on the appropriate side of the desk/lobby at all times.
Break Coverage:
Coordinate seamless transitions with team members to ensure the lobby desk is never left unattended. 3.
Package & Delivery Handling Delivery App Verification:
Confirm all incoming late-night food deliveries by physically viewing the order confirmation on the driver's delivery app before granting building access.
Package Logging:
Receive, log, and secure incoming packages using the automated package locker system or property software.
Overflow Management:
Properly label and organize oversized or overflow packages in the designated package room, ensuring the room remains locked at all times. 4.
Facility Maintenance & Emergency Response Elevator Monitoring:
Keep a close watch on elevator functionality. In the event of a malfunction or entrapment, immediately contact the elevator service provider, document the reference details, and log the incident.
Amenity Oversight:
Ensure community amenities (coffee, water, lounge areas) are utilized by residents only. Monitor and troubleshoot trash chutes and trash compactor rooms.
Overnight Emergency Escalation:
Coordinate after-hours maintenance requests for qualifying property emergencies and contact management/field supervisors as required by protocol. 5. Reporting & Administration Daily Activity Report (DAR): Maintain detailed, chronological electronic logs of all activities, incidents, and tasks performed throughout the shift. Submit the DAR to management prior to clocking out.
Shift Check-In/Check-Out:
Properly submit On-Site Reports and Key/Fob Reports immediately after clocking in and before completing a shift.
Key Audits:
Conduct a comprehensive audit of the electronic key machine before the end of the shift to ensure all keys are present and accounted for.
Role Requirements & Qualifications Experience:
Previous experience in luxury hospitality, residential concierge, or unarmed security operations preferred. Experience handling graveyard or 12-hour shifts is highly valued.
Technical Literacy:
Comfort navigating multi-monitor computer setups, electronic key management systems (e.g., KeyTrak), property management portals, and security camera software (e.g., Avigilon/Simplex).
Communication Skills:
Fluent in professional English (bilingual Spanish is a plus). Exceptional verbal communication and a customer-first attitude.
Alertness & Integrity:
Ability to stay highly focused, alert, and vigilant during overnight hours and strictly adhere to security guard protocols.
Certifications:
Must possess or be able to obtain a valid state-issued Unarmed Security Guard Card/License where applicable.
