About Momentum Indoor Climbing Momentum Indoor Climbing is a community-driven indoor climbing company with locations across Utah, Texas, and Washington. Founded in Utah, Momentum was created to inspire and empower people through climbing, fitness, and connection. Our gyms bring together people of all backgrounds and experience levels to challenge themselves, build friendships, and grow in a supportive environment. With world-class route setting, expert instruction, and a strong focus on community, Momentum is dedicated to helping every climber reach their full potential. Momentum is seeking enthusiastic and outgoing applicants for the Gym Operations positions at our SoDo, Seattle location. This customer-focused position includes the majority of tasks required to run the gym on a day-to-day basis. Gym Operations staff provide a diverse range of services to our customers including, but not limited to, sales, membership maintenance, risk mitigation, opening and closing, and cleaning. Building positive relationships and a strong gym community is an important component of this position. Previous customer experience is required, group facilitation and an instructional background are preferred. Momentum employees are expected to be flexible and dynamic in their willingness to confront challenges of any kind and contribute to the success of their team.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilitating the Customer Experience Open and close the gym Provide high-quality customer service in a way that fosters a positive community consistent with the Momentum vision and values Go the extra mile. Meet our guests more than halfway in your interactions Seek to make a personal connection with our patrons through conversation Greet individuals on the way in and out of the facility Take phone calls, resolve issues, and be an expert resource in the facility Give facility tours and share your enthusiasm for climbing Assist in cleaning as necessary Balance the demands and needs of multiple customers simultaneously Professionalism Present yourself in a friendly, authentic, and professional way. Wear designated staff apparel while working Be clean and approachable in your appearance Show up on time and pitch in extra when needed Product Knowledge, Advocacy, and Sales Be knowledgeable about all the services Momentum offers and help customers find the service that best suits them Aid customers and fellow staff members in all things membership related such as sign-ups, freezes, cancellations Verify that all climbers have purchased access to the facility Operate our gym management software and conduct point of sale transactions Keep up to date on gym events and seasonal offerings and make recommendations to customers when appropriate Managing Risk Monitor the gym and mitigate unsafe situations before they become a problem Verify Momentum visitors have current waivers and all necessary certifications Educate climbers on best practice techniques including downclimbing and falling techniques Take corrective action when needed to maintain safety standards
REQUIREMENTS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Hours and Availability Part-Time (approx. 12 - 20 hrs a week) Shift duties will be divided between time spent at the front counter assisting with sales and guest check-in, time spent in the climbing area performing safety patrols, and behind the walls Must be available to work nights and weekends with a preference for Sun and Mon close Experience, Skills, and Certifications Must be at least 18 years of age Must have at least 6 months of climbing experience and show a strong enthusiasm for climbing A customer service background is highly preferred Basic computer skills are required including familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Drive Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in person, through email, and over the phone Individuals must be highly organized and able to maintain complex personal schedules First Aid & CPR certifications are required. May obtain within first 3 months of employment Environmental and Physical Demands Able to work in a loud, high energy environment on a regular basis Comfortable working at height and moving up and down a climbing wall or ladder Continuously stand and walk on unstable and uneven surfaces for long periods of time Able to repeatedly lift, move, and carry up to 50 lbs of weight on a regular basis Able to balance, kneel, pull, push, and grasp objects as needed
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Starting Range:
$21.30 - $22.00
General Range:
