Hot Food Cook -
Food Services SUMMARY:
Cook that prepares hot food for patients and guests.
BAXTER HEALTH COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Understands and adheres to Baxter Health standards as they appear in HealthStream Policy Manager. Required to work with the Patient Supervisor regularly to carryout, initiate and/or implement best practices for the Baxter Health Food and Nutrition Department.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent or minimum score of Bronze on the Career Readiness Certification ( CRC ) certificate preferred.
Experience:
Minimum six (6) months work experience preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to perform the following: Must have the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, to solve problems and make decisions. Must be able to respond to equipment alarms, such as beepers and timers and read recipes and instruction/procedural manuals. Must be able to occasionally distinguish between sweet and bitter flavors to ensure food quality. Ability to stand and walk up to, or exceeding 10 hours per shift. Ability to bend, squat and twist, and frequently lift and move up to 40 pounds with proper body mechanics. Spend up to two hours or more in front of computer, monitor or similar screen utilizing keyboard and/or mouse, daily. Ability to multi-task in a fast pace environment. Must be able to handle critical and highly stressful situations with efficiency and composure. Work Environment Kitchen setting, within a hospital environment Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a position in a hospital setting which is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Production staff:
7 days a week, 8,or 10 hour shifts. Must be available to work a variety of hours, days and shifts, including weekends and increased work schedules. May be required to work during inclement weather, emergency (Code yellow), and holidays.
