This position will require knowledge, training and experience in producing quality dishes in many styles.
Job Skills Requirement:
- Hold a current California Food Certificate.
- Minimum 1 years preferred in a in a kitchen environment.
- Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
- Knowledge of operating all kitchen equipment, i.e., stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, steamers, kettles, etc.
- Basic mathematical skills necessary to understand recipes, measurements, requisition amounts and portion sizes.
- Basic knowledge of the English language sufficient to understand inquiries from team members and communicate simple instructions.
- Ability to comprehend and apply written product labeling instructions to enable the safe application of products and processes within the hotel.
- Assign tasks using such techniques as needs analysis, individual skills assessment, objective setting and communication.
- Demonstrate ability to proactively prioritize needs and effectively manage resources.
- Demonstrate ability to relate to, communicate with and motivate employees to sustain high performance and quality levels.
- Skillfully determine whether tasks should be attempted, identifying the most effective way of completing the task and preparing to overcome expected difficulties.
