Kitsch + Sync, a new family restaurant + indoor play space in downtown Novato, is hiring a dependable Prep Cook to join our opening kitchen team. Pay is $17-$18/hour based on experience, PLUS participation in our house-wide tip pool. Kitchen team members share in pooled tips, providing additional earnings on top of base pay. This is a 30-40 hour/week position with consistent hours and an opportunity to become a core member of our opening team. Our menu is intentionally streamlined, so this isn't a traditional high-pressure line-cook position. We're looking for someone who works efficiently, follows recipes and food-safety procedures, stays organized, and takes pride in keeping a clean kitchen. What you'll do: Daily food prep and recipe execution Portion and prepare menu ingredients Maintain a clean, organized and well-stocked kitchen Dishwashing and general kitchen cleaning Receive, rotate and properly store ingredients Support food service during busy periods Follow food-safety and sanitation standards Work closely with management and the rest of the K+S team What we're looking for: Previous restaurant, café, catering, deli, bakery, grocery/prepared-food or similar kitchen experience preferred Dependable and punctual Comfortable working independently and as part of a team Able to follow recipes and maintain consistent quality Strong cleanliness and organization Able to work efficiently during busy periods Morning/daytime and weekend availability California Food Handler Card or ability to obtain one Formal culinary training is not required. Reliability, work ethic and a good attitude matter more to us than a fancy résumé.
