The ideal candidate is a strong leader who can operate independently, maintain full control of their station, and ensure consistent execution under pressure. This is a high-performance kitchen environment where discipline, speed, consistency, and professionalism are strictly enforced. Responsibilities ⁠ ⁠Prepare and execute menu items according to established recipes, standards, and plating guidelines. ⁠ ⁠Run assigned station independently with full accountability. ⁠ ⁠Maintain speed, consistency, and quality during high-volume service periods. ⁠ ⁠Lead by example through professionalism, urgency, and strong work ethic. ⁠ ⁠Ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices at all times. ⁠ ⁠Follow and enforce all kitchen SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) without exception. ⁠ ⁠Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow. ⁠ ⁠Monitor inventory levels and report shortages to management. ⁠ ⁠Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked workstations at all times. ⁠ ⁠Uphold strict portion control and minimize waste. Schedule & Availability Requirements ⁠ ⁠Must be fully flexible for morning and night shifts. ⁠ ⁠Must be available to work daily as needed based on scheduling. ⁠ ⁠Weekends are mandatory. ⁠ ⁠One scheduled day off per week is standard. ⁠ ⁠Two days off may be granted depending on scheduling needs but are not guaranteed. ⁠ ⁠Must be reliable and available during peak service hours. Requirements ⁠ ⁠Minimum 5 years of professional line cook experience required. ⁠ ⁠Must have a valid Food Handler's Permit (required). ⁠ ⁠Strong ability to work independently and manage a station without supervision. ⁠ ⁠Proven leadership ability in a fast-paced kitchen environment. ⁠ ⁠Strong knowledge of cooking methods, food safety, sanitation standards, and SOP compliance. ⁠ ⁠Ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure. ⁠ ⁠High attention to detail and consistency in execution. ⁠ ⁠Strong communication and teamwork skills. ⁠ ⁠Passion for soul food cuisine is a plus.
