The Thermal Club is the premier private motorsports facility in the world. In addition to 5.1 miles of members-only racetrack, the Club facilities include a fully amenitized Clubhouse and Village unrivaled in the motorsports world. All 5.1 miles of our exquisite racetrack are designed to push both amateurs and professionals to their limit, giving members the thrill of driving at peak performance amidst the endless desert skies.
Purpose:
To produce all hot and cold food items for service in the restaurant and catering functions, ensuring that all are prepared according to corporate standards and specifications.
Job Responsibilities:
Prepares or directs preparation of regular and special diet foods according to prescribed menus and recipes; Follows established schedules in cooking, baking, sanitation, and related activities. Determines proper cooking time and temperature. Takes inventory of supplies on hand and orders food supplies, ingredients, and other consumables on a scheduled basis as determined by menu and estimated number of lunch and dinners. Cleans and sanitizes all food preparation equipment and ensures that it is kept in safe and operable condition. Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service. Prepare palatable meals according to specified menu and schedule with a minimum of waste. Use standard food preparation utensils such as knives, spoons, tongs and whips. Operate power driven equipment such as a meat slicer or mixer. Train and coordinate the work of assistants engaged in volume food preparation. Perform physical inventories and keep records. Observe or monitor objects and people's behavior to determine compliance with prescribed operating or safety standards. Comprehend and make inferences from materials written in the English language. Clean work area and equipment using broom, mop, sponge, cleaning solution or other appropriate tool or material. Learn job-related material primarily through oral instruction and observation, which takes place mainly in an on-the-job training setting. Review or check the work products of others to ensure conformance to standards. Work safely without presenting a direct threat to themselves or others. Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards. Date all food containers and rotate per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Cook orders as requested, including special requests. Start food items that are prepared ahead of time, making sure not to prepare over estimated needs Note any out-of-stock items or possible shortages. Each employee is expected to carry out, within their capabilities, all reasonable requests by management. Requirements High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) Must possess a current Riverside County food handler's permit at the time of hire. Three years of experience in commercial, institutional, or related volume food preparation. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted. Methods, materials, and practices of volume food preparation. Sanitary methods used in food preparation and related activities. Inventory and ordering methods. Must be able to pass all required tests
Physical Demands of Job:
Must be neatly dressed and well-groomed in a clean and approved company dress code. Must be able to read menus. Stands and walks for an extended period of time during 6-8 hour shift. Reaches, bends, stoops and wipes. Must be able to give clear, friendly greetings and farewells to guests, as well as being able to understand requests for assistance. Must be able to clearly communicate guest's needs to servers, bussers, cashiers, and managers. Must be able to hear well in a loud environment in order to respond to employee or guest needs. Make continuous or repetitive arm-hand movements, such as slicing or chopping food. Lifts and carries supplies and equipment up to 60 lbs., throughout entire shift: places these items on high and low shelves in storerooms, walk-ins, and freezers. Must be able to calmly respond to angry guests and notify manager of situation. Hazards include, but not limited to, cut from broken glass, metal cans, burns, slipping, and tripping. Frequently immerses hands in water. Works frequently in a hot and damp environment.
