Job Description
Primarily responsible for independent cooking in the kitchen out of public view. Must be focused and able to repeat specific directions with attention to detail and no distractions. Includes standing for long periods and moving 20-50# of ingredients, handling very hot candy and independently managing the work flow. Schedule is posted weekly depending on employee and store needs, hours each week may vary. A set schedule is possible if needed; this position is intended to be year-round; may work other positions to increase hours depending on production needs. •Year-round or local residence preferred due to training commitment and shift needs. Not suitable for seasonal/short term applicants. Bonus (base $18 + $2/hr bonus) at completion of training + performance raises. Walk, bend, lift, twist & stand for extended periods of time Scoop, pour, measure, mix and divide ingredients by hand repeatedly Able to lift and maneuver 20-50# repeatedly Speak, read and write fluent English language Ability to work flexible hours Detail oriented Able to add and blend food color by sight to appearance standards Able to organize and manage tasks independently Able to work in a team, providing and asking for assistance as needed 18 years old Background check Non-disclosure agreement Follow written formulas, recipes and verbal directions accurately Make adjustments to ingredients within parameters as indicated Operate gas and electric appliances, machines & equipment safely Mix, stir, lift, pour, scrape and handle hot candy safely according to company standards Measure and mix ingredients consistently and accurately according to instructions Apply food color to taffy by consistent visual measurement to meet standard Monitor more than one batch or process simultaneously Anticipate supply needs and communicate needs with Manager Maintain an organized, safe workspace Prepare, maintain and restock supplies and ingredients daily Clean, organize and stock work area at end of shift Maintain an attitude of safety and quality in every task or assignment Anticipate and modify pace of candy making depending on other team positions Assist with other facets of production as needed Other duties as assigned Independent work environment Established standards and formulas Opportunity to cross train to other positions for additional hours Flexible hours
