Responsibilities Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning fresh produce and other food items to ensure readiness for cooking and plating Assist chefs and kitchen staff with food preparation tasks, including measuring ingredients and assembling dishes according to recipes Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering strictly to food safety standards and sanitation protocols Support cooking processes by monitoring food temperatures, managing cooking times, and ensuring proper handling of all ingredients Help with menu planning by providing input on ingredient availability and prep needs for upcoming service periods Handle food with care during preparation to prevent cross-contamination and ensure quality control in all food handling activities Support catering events or special functions by preparing bulk ingredients or assembling plated meals as directed Experience Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable, demonstrating familiarity with food handling and safety procedures Experience working in restaurants or the food industry provides a strong foundation in kitchen operations, meal preparation, and food service standards Knowledge of menu planning, food preparation techniques, and culinary practices enhances your ability to contribute effectively to the team Skilled in knife handling, cooking methods, and food safety regulations ensures efficient and safe kitchen operations Exposure to catering or large-scale meal prep environments is a plus, showcasing adaptability in diverse settings Familiarity with dietary restrictions or special diet accommodations can be beneficial for supporting varied guest needs Embark on a rewarding culinary journey where your passion for food meets professional growth!
