Job Description
Marriott is seeking a Main Kitchen Cook I to join our culinary team. In this role, you will prepare and cook menu items to brand standards, support banquet and restaurant service, and maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen. You'll follow recipes, portion controls, and food safety guidelines, assist with prep and station setup, and coordinate timing with service staff. The Cook I helps train junior team members, monitors product quality and waste, and upholds Marriott's standards of hospitality, teamwork, and guest satisfaction in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and portion guidelines Set up, stock, and break down hot and cold line stations for service Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency Follow all food safety, sanitation, and HACCP procedures Assist with prep production for banquets, restaurant, and room service Coordinate ticket timing and communication with servers and other kitchen staff Properly use, clean, and store kitchen equipment and tools Monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and minimize food waste Support training and guidance of junior cooks and stewards Adhere to Marriott brand standards and contribute to a positive team culture Required Skills Hot and cold line cooking Food preparation and knife skills Recipe and portion control adherence Food safety and sanitation (HACCP) Kitchen equipment operation Station setup and breakdown Ticket and time management Basic inventory and waste control Banquet and a la carte service support Team communication in a fast-paced kitchen
