Job Description

Historic hotel and full-service restaurant seeking an experienced Evening Kitchen Supervisor to lead and work alongside our kitchen team during evening service. The ideal candidate is a strong, hands-on cook with a sharp eye for food quality, plating, presentation, timing, and consistency. This position will help lead our line cooks, keep the kitchen organized and running smoothly, and ensure food leaves the kitchen properly prepared, attractively presented, and on time. The ideal candidate must be available to work weekends and major holidays, have a stable work history, and possess a current Florida Food Handler's Card. JOB BRIEF
Lead and work alongside the evening kitchen team to ensure menu items are prepared correctly, plated attractively and consistently, and delivered in a timely manner. Maintain organization, cleanliness, food quality, and proper kitchen flow throughout service while providing direction and support to line cooks.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and work alongside line cooks during evening service. Set up, stock, and organize kitchen stations with all necessary supplies. Prepare and cook menu items according to the Executive Chef's specifications. Ensure food is properly cooked, seasoned, portioned, and presented. Maintain consistent plating and presentation standards throughout service. Monitor ticket times and coordinate the timing of multiple orders so food is ready and served together. Help organize the line and direct cooks during busy periods to maintain an efficient flow of service. Provide guidance and support to line cooks and help ensure established kitchen procedures are followed. Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked kitchen throughout the shift. Assist with food preparation, including chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, butchering meat, and other prep as needed. Communicate effectively with the Executive Chef, Sous Chefs, and other members of the kitchen team. Identify and address issues with food quality, presentation, timing, or station organization during service. Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures are followed. Properly store food and maintain appropriate inventory levels. Assist with banquet production and execution as needed. Maintain a positive, professional, and team-oriented working environment. Help ensure a consistent and positive dining experience for our guests. Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Proven professional cooking experience, preferably in a full-service restaurant or hotel environment. Previous experience working as a Line Cook, Lead Cook, Kitchen Supervisor, Sous Chef, or similar position. Strong understanding of cooking methods, ingredients, kitchen equipment, and food preparation procedures. Strong understanding of plating, presentation, portion control, and food consistency. Ability to coordinate multiple orders and manage timing during busy service periods. Ability to confidently direct and support other kitchen staff while remaining hands-on. Strong attention to detail and pride in the quality and appearance of food. Ability to work efficiently and calmly in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Familiarity with food safety, sanitation, and industry best practices. Current Florida Food Handler's Card. Ability to work weekends and major holidays. Stable work history. Successful completion of a background check prior to employment.
