Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dependable and motivated Line Cook to join our kitchen team. The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items according to recipes and quality standards while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about food, works well under pressure, and thrives in a fast-paced kitchen.
Essential Duties:
Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards. Set up and stock workstations with necessary supplies and ingredients. Maintain proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures. Ensure food quality, consistency, and timely service during all shifts. Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages to management. Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas. Follow portion control guidelines to minimize waste and control costs. Assist with receiving and storing deliveries. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations. Comply with all health department regulations and company policies. Performs other duties as required.Education/Experience :
- Previous experience as a line cook, prep cook, or similar kitchen position preferred.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Demands :
Frequently stands, uses hands, talks, listens, tastes and smells. Regularly walks and reaches with hands and arms. Occasionally sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. Regularly lifts up to 50 pounds.Environment/Noise :
This position requires standing for long periods, working near hot surfaces and kitchen equipment, and performing repetitive tasks in a busy restaurant environment.Certificates/Licenses :
- Food Handler Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
