Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and energetic Line Cook/Prep Cook with experience in Italian cuisine to join our dynamic culinary team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality ingredients and dishes that meet our restaurant's standards for taste, presentation, and safety. Your enthusiasm and culinary skills will contribute to creating a welcoming dining experience for our guests. Duties Prepare ingredients and components of dishes according to standardized recipes and menu specifications, ensuring consistency and quality. Assist with food preparation tasks such as slicing, dicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, fryers, mixers, and food processors. Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety standards in production and handling. Support meal preparation for various service periods, including lunch, dinner, and catering events. Follow food safety management practices to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate food prep activities and ensure timely delivery of orders. Assist in menu planning by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation methods. Contribute to a positive team environment by supporting colleagues in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and efficiency. Qualifications Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is preferred but not required; a strong interest in food industry practices is essential. Proven food service experience in restaurant or catering settings demonstrating knowledge of food handling and safety standards. Skilled in culinary techniques including knife skills, slicing methods, and recipe adherence. Familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Knowledge of food safety management systems and compliance with health regulations. Ability to work quickly under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with kitchen staff and other team members. Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and catering is considered a plus.
