Responsibilities Lead and coordinate the preparation and cooking of menu items, ensuring consistency and excellence in every dish. Supervise kitchen staff during service, providing guidance on food production, plating, and presentation standards. Maintain strict adherence to food safety protocols, sanitation procedures, and food handling regulations to ensure a safe dining environment. Oversee the operation of kitchen equipment such as grills, braising pans, poaching stations, and other culinary tools with proficiency. Assist in menu planning by contributing ideas for new dishes and refining existing recipes to enhance flavor profiles and presentation. Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and manage stock rotation to minimize waste. Train team members on knife skills, cooking techniques like braising and grilling, and proper food safety management practices. Requirements Proven experience in food industry roles such as dietary aide, catering chef, or restaurant line cook with a focus on high-volume production. Strong culinary background with expertise in food preparation techniques including poaching, braising, grilling, and meal assembly. Excellent knife skills and familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Prior experience in fine dining or upscale restaurant settings is highly desirable. Knowledge of dietary department standards and experience with dietary menu planning is a plus. Demonstrated ability to follow recipes precisely while maintaining flexibility for special requests or dietary restrictions.
