Job Overview Join our vibrant childcare team as a Daycare Cook, where your culinary skills will nurture young minds and support their growth! In this vital role, you will prepare nutritious, appealing meals tailored to the dietary needs of children in our care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine culinary expertise with a passion for supporting early childhood development. Duties Plan and prepare balanced, kid-friendly menus that meet nutritional guidelines and accommodate dietary restrictions Prepare meals according to CACFP guidelines and provided menus Ensure all food handling procedures adhere to strict safety and sanitation standards to maintain a clean kitchen environment Grocery shopping for the center Serve meals in a timely manner Maintain accurate records of food temperatures, sanitation practices, and meal counts for compliance and reporting purposes Collaborate with staff to accommodate special dietary needs and implement menu modifications as required Adhere to health and safety policies and state licensing procedures Perform other duties as required Skills 6 months to 1 year of experience in a licensed child care facility Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food service operations Knowledge of menu planning tailored for young children, including understanding nutritional requirements and portion control Ability to lift 30 pounds and to stand for long periods 95% of the day Previous experience as a cook is a MUST Must maintain state in-service requirements Nutrition training is a MUST State fingerprint background check is a must This role is perfect for culinary enthusiasts eager to make a meaningful impact through nourishing young learners.
