Responsibilities Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality. Assist with menu planning by preparing daily specials and ensuring ingredient availability. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, fryers, mixers, and food processors. Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen appliances to meet food safety standards. Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures, storage guidelines, and sanitation practices. Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service during busy hours. Support catering events or special functions by preparing large quantities of food while adhering to recipe specifications. Qualifications Previous experience in a food industry setting such as a restaurant or catering environment is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of dietary department procedures or dietary aide experience is a plus. Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques for efficient food preparation. Familiarity with safety standards in food production and food safety management practices. Ability to follow recipes accurately and consistently while maintaining high quality standards. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff and front-of-house teams. Experience operating various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently is desirable.
