Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will assist in preparing and serving nutritious meals to residents, ensuring their dietary needs are met with care and professionalism. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will contribute to creating a positive dining experience for our residents, supporting their health and well-being. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where teamwork, safety, and quality food service are prioritized. Duties Assist in food preparation and meal assembly following dietary guidelines and resident preferences Serve meals with a focus on presentation, portion control, and adherence to dietary requirements Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas, including sanitation and proper food handling practices Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, dishwashers, and food prep tools Support the dietary department by bussing tables, cleaning utensils, and managing food storage Follow safe lifting practices when handling heavy items or supplies to prevent injury Adhere to all workplace safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and infection control procedures Experience Previous experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred Demonstrated ability in food production, meal preparation, and food handling techniques Familiarity with dietary requirements for geriatric or special needs populations Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of sanitation standards such as JCAHO (Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations) guidelines and food safety regulations Experience working with diverse populations, including geriatric patients or individuals with specific dietary needs Basic math skills for portioning and inventory management; excellent customer service skills are a plus Join us in making a difference through nourishing care!
