Key Responsibilities:
The primary purpose of your position is to prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, with our established policies and procedures, and as may be directed by the Executive Director and Dining Director, to assure that quality food service is provided at all times. Review menus and prepares food in accordance with menu. Makes accommodations on individual orders as requested by residents/guests. Assists with cutting, marinating and precooking foods. Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance. Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures. Ensure that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies. Responsible for maintaining a sanitized work area. Ensure that food area stocked and organized, alerts manager of any inventory deficiencies. Keeps fast-moving pace with other cooks on the line so that all food is ready for each plate at the same time. Wraps unused items and stores in proper areas at the end of a shift and shuts off all equipment at the station.
Requirements:
1-2 years of professional cooking experience preferred Illinois Food Sanitation License required Senior living or healthcare cooking experience a plus Ability to prepare large quantities and a la carte dishes Positive attitude and teamwork mindset EOE
