Job Overview Join the Wee Care team as a dedicated Cook! In this role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious, appealing meals tailored to children's dietary needs while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and sanitation. Your enthusiasm for food preparation and menu planning will help create a warm, nurturing environment that supports growth and development. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to combine a passion for cooking with a passion for early childhood education, ensuring every child receives wholesome, delicious meals daily. Responsibilities Prepare and cook nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with approved menus, ensuring adherence to dietary guidelines for children. Help plan weekly menus that incorporate balanced nutrition, variety, and appealing presentation to encourage healthy eating habits. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Shop for needed groceries and supplies. Handle food with care, following strict food safety management practices such as sanitizing procedures and proper food handling techniques. Cook for approximately 33 children, ages 15 months through 5 years. Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels, rotating supplies, and ordering ingredients as needed to support menu requirements. Follow recipe adherence protocols meticulously to ensure nutritional accuracy and compliance with health regulations. Experience Previous experience working as a dietary aide or in a food service environment is highly desirable. Demonstrated knowledge of menu planning and food preparation . Familiarity with food safety sanitizing procedures and food safety management practices is essential. Proven ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while maintaining cleanliness standards. Strong understanding of dietary department protocols and compliance requirements related to child nutrition programs. Pay:
$15.00 - $17.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 per week
