Scope of Position:
The primary purpose of the Cook is performing duties efficiently and productively for food preparation as required by the Culinary Director. While maintaining positive work habits, personal qualities, and sanitation standards for food service area(s).
Qualifications:
Compassion for the elderly. High School Diploma or equivalent. 90 hours Food Supervisor Course from an accredited sponsor, or equivalent, and State Food Service Sanitation Certificate. Must be able to prepare food(s) from recipe. Ability to work independently. Satisfactory clearance of criminal history background check.

Job Responsibilities:
Follows the Culinary Directors instruction in producing and serving food to meet with standards. Performs duties involved in the safe preparation and handling of food, cleaning, and sanitizing of equipment and facility. Exhibits knowledge of operating all equipment, work techniques and methods of performing duties. Maintains required forms and records as assigned by Director. Utilizes all food stocked to the fullest extent possible. Advised Culinary Director of repairs needed for equipment. Works under stress effectively and efficiently. Exhibits willingness to work in any situation. Maintains personal qualities appropriate for task at hand. Continually looks to upgrade level of skill. Participate in in-service training sessions. Maintains regular attendance. Exhibits punctuality. Exhibits enthusiasm. Performs other duties assigned by Director.
