Cooks are responsible for preparing and grilling foods to meet specific customer preferences, and they're often required to handle tasks in other areas of the kitchen in addition to their grill stations. If you thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment and like cooking, this role is for you. This position is not on a transportation line. Transportation and valid ID are required.
Grill Cook Responsibilities:
Specialize in preparing dishes that involve grilling, broiling, or using open flames. Handle and cook various proteins, including steaks, burgers, chicken, and fish. Ensure precise temperature control to achieve desired flavors and textures in grilled items. Assisting with stocking and setting up the kitchen stations Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace, including storage areas. Follow proper food handling and sanitation standards to ensure kitchen hygiene. Collaborate with the kitchen team for timely and efficient food preparation. Monitor inventory levels, communicating shortages or replenishment needs. Adhere to health and safety regulations governing food preparation and storage. Always follow food service sanitation regulations. Safely and efficiently operate kitchen equipment and appliances. Foster a positive and team-oriented atmosphere in the kitchen.
Prep Cook Responsibilities:
Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and other meal prep. Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking. Ready ingredients before service for use by the line cooks in the preparation process. Undertake basic cooking duties, such as reducing sauces and parboiling food. Prepare simple dishes, such as salads and entrees. Set up workstations and ingredients so that food can be prepared according to recipes. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace, including storage areas. Collaborate with the kitchen team for timely and efficient food preparation. Monitor inventory levels, communicating shortages or replenishment needs. Adhere to health and safety regulations governing food preparation and storage. Always follow food service sanitation regulations. Safely and efficiently operate kitchen equipment and appliances. Foster a positive and team-oriented atmosphere in the kitchen. Perform additional duties as assigned by the kitchen manager or chef.
Physical Requirements:
Requires significant walking and the ability to work in a standing position for 8-hour shifts. Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds, as needed. Stamina to handle repetitive and multiple tasks while maintaining focus in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, holidays, and weekends.
Hiring Essentials:
Must be at least 18 years of age. Reliable and consistent transportation. Eligibility to work in the United States. Willingness to submit to a Drug Test and Criminal Background Check. Strong knowledge of grilling techniques and temperature control. Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Grill Cook or in a similar role required. Have a strong working knowledge of proper food handling, safety, and sanitation practices. Culinary education or training is desirable.
