In this vital role, you will assist in preparing ingredients, assembling dishes, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. Your energy and culinary skills will contribute to delivering high-quality meals efficiently and safely. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your food industry expertise while working in a fast-paced, team-focused setting. The ideal candidate is passionate about food preparation, adheres strictly to safety standards, and communicates effectively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations. Responsibilities Assist in preparing ingredients according to recipes, including chopping, slicing, and portioning food items using proper knife skills and slicing techniques Follow established menu planning guidelines to ensure consistency and quality in meal preparation Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, fryers, and food processors safely and efficiently Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment by adhering to food safety management standards and cleaning protocols Support the cooking process by assembling dishes accurately while adhering to recipe specifications and presentation standards Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed at all times to promote food safety and prevent contamination Communicate effectively with kitchen staff regarding meal prep needs, ingredient availability, and safety procedures Experience Previous dietary department or dietary aide experience preferred but not required; relevant restaurant or food service experience is highly valued Familiarity with menu planning, meal preparation, and food industry best practices Demonstrated ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently Experience with food safety standards in production environments and knowledge of food handling regulations Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques for various ingredients Ability to follow recipes accurately while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety standards in the kitchen Catering experience or background working in fast-paced culinary settings is a plus This role is an excellent stepping stone for those passionate about culinary arts and eager to grow within the food industry.
