Duties Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and portioning fresh produce and other food items with precision and care. Assist in the assembly of menu items according to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines. Support cooking processes by handling basic food preparation tasks such as mixing, marinating, and assembling dishes. Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, ensuring compliance with food safety standards at all times. Handle food safely by following proper storage, handling, and sanitation procedures to prevent contamination. Assist with meal preparation for catering events or large orders, ensuring timely delivery without compromising quality. Support the kitchen team by serving as a reliable team player who adapts quickly to changing priorities and volume demands. Experience Prior experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable. Experience working in a restaurant or food industry setting demonstrates familiarity with fast-paced kitchens and food handling protocols. Knowledge of menu planning, food preparation techniques, and cooking methods enhances your ability to excel in this role. Skills in knife handling, meal preparation, and food safety practices are essential for maintaining high standards of quality. Previous kitchen experience involving catering or serving can provide valuable insight into large-scale food service operations. A background in culinary arts or related training is beneficial but not mandatory; enthusiasm for learning is equally valued.
