This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary talents while supporting the well-being of young learners. Duties Prepare and cook a variety of nutritious meals in accordance with approved menus and dietary guidelines Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, ovens, poaching and braising tools, and food production machinery Follow strict food safety sanitizing procedures to ensure a clean and safe dining environment Assist with menu planning by adhering to recipes and dietary restrictions while maintaining high-quality standards Handle food with care, practicing proper food handling techniques to prevent contamination and ensure freshness Support high-volume food production during busy meal times, ensuring timely service for students and staff Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area through regular sanitizing and organization of supplies Requirements Previous dietary aide or food service experience preferred, especially in school or large-scale settings Strong culinary skills including food preparation, grilling, braising, poaching, and knife techniques Experience with menu planning and recipe adherence to meet nutritional standards Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures in a commercial kitchen environment Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently Familiarity with high-volume production processes typical in school cafeterias or catering environments Excellent food handling skills with a focus on hygiene and safety standards Join us in creating a positive dining experience that fuels young minds!
