Job Description
Wild Hare Cafe & Bakery | Hudson, MA Wild Hare is looking for a Line Cook to join our kitchen team. Our kitchen focuses on scratch-made, flavorful food executed consistently and with care. The goal of the Line Cook is simple: cook great food. From prep through service and plating, care should be the focus, and food should be executed to the standards set by the Wild Hare kitchen team. We love to coach and teach, but the ideal candidate is also reliable, clean, self-sufficient, and capable of learning and growing independently.

Kitchen Schedule:
30-40 hours (weekdays + weekend day) Responsibilities Show Up On Time Great work starts with having the proper time to do it. Arrive on time and prepared for your scheduled shift. Execute Daily Prep & Learn New Prep Items Complete daily prep according to Wild Hare recipes and standards. Line Cooks should be comfortable executing basic prep independently while asking questions and learning new techniques and prep items as they progress. Set Up & Break Down Your Station Properly set up, stock, organize, and maintain your station before service. Complete station breakdown, cleaning, storage, labeling, and organization at the end of the shift. Execute Food During Service Prepare, cook, assemble, and plate menu items accurately and consistently according to Wild Hare recipes, presentation standards, and ticket times. Work Clean, Efficiently & Organized Maintain a calm head during busy service. Work quickly and accurately while keeping your station clean, sanitary, stocked, and organized. Practice Safe Food & Knife Handling Follow proper food handling, sanitation, storage, labeling, temperature-control, and knife-safety practices at all times. Utilize Downtime When service slows down, look for what needs to be done next. This may include cleaning, organizing, restocking, completing prep, or helping another member of the kitchen team. Work as Part of the Team Communicate clearly with kitchen leadership and coworkers, assist other stations when needed, and contribute to a productive and respectful kitchen environment. Qualifications Must be 18 years of age or older. At least 1 year of experience working in a professional kitchen in a prep or cooking role. Basic knife skills and safe knife-handling practices. Basic understanding of cooking techniques and food preparation. Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and plating standards consistently. Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced kitchen. Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset. Ability to stand and work for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely.
