Job Description

The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items according to established recipes, standards, and presentation guidelines. This role ensures consistency, quality, and timely execution of dishes during service while maintaining a clean and organized workstation. Key Responsibilities Prepare ingredients for service (chopping, slicing, portioning, marinating) Cook and plate menu items according to recipes and presentation standards Set up and stock assigned station with all necessary supplies Maintain proper food handling, sanitation, and safety standards Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner during service Communicate effectively with kitchen team and front-of-house staff Monitor food quality and report any issues to the chef Assist with inventory, storage, and labeling of food products Clean and maintain workstation before, during, and after shifts Follow all health department and kitchen regulations Qualifications Previous experience as a line cook Knowledge of cooking techniques, knife skills, and kitchen equipment Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment Strong attention to detail and consistency Team-oriented with good communication skills Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays Food safety certification (preferred) Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs Skills Knife skills Time management Organization Teamwork and communication Basic cooking techniques Work Environment Exposure to heat, steam, and sharp equipment Evening, weekends, and holidays will be required
