Being able to work the grill and good with temperatures is a huge plus. Someone who works well with others and can multitask. We are a busy restaurant on the water in Mattapoisett. Responsibilities Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes, ensuring consistency and quality. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, fryers, grills, slicers, and other culinary tools. Follow food safety protocols and handle all food products with care to prevent contamination. Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen areas in compliance with health regulations. Assist with menu planning by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation techniques. Collaborate closely with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service. Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining quality standards. Skills Proven experience in food preparation within a restaurant or food service environment. Strong knowledge of culinary techniques including knife skills, slicing methods, and recipe adherence. Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Understanding of food safety management practices and proper food handling procedures. Ability to communicate effectively with kitchen team members to ensure smooth operations. Experience in meal preparation, catering, or dietary departments is a plus. Knowledge of dietary aide practices and menu planning is advantageous for diverse service needs. Excellent cleaning habits to maintain a sanitary workspace at all times. Demonstrated ability to follow safety standards in production environments within the food industry.
