Job Description

Overview Join our team as a Cook/Responsible person, where your expertise will drive the creation of delicious, nutritious meals for our rest home residents. This role is vital in ensuring food safety, and maintaining high standards of food quality. You will be responsible for preparing a variety of dishes, and adhering to strict safety and sanitation protocols. You will be cross-trained as a Responsible Person for our Level IV rest home which provides round the clocl supervision and medication management for our residents whom are all males and fully independent. Responsibilities Prepare and cook a wide range of meals with precision, including techniques such as poaching, braising, grilling, and food production. Follow detailed recipes and ensure consistent quality across all dishes while adhering to menu plans and dietary guidelines. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, stoves, ovens, and food preparation tools. Maintain strict food safety standards by implementing sanitizing procedures and proper food handling practices to prevent contamination. Support dietary department requirements by preparing specialized meals that meet specific dietary restrictions or preferences. Ensure cleanliness of the kitchen area through regular sanitizing procedures and proper waste disposal practices. Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent food service experiences to our residents. Provide round the clock supervision and medication management for our residents. Experience Proven experience in dietary aide roles or similar food service positions with a strong understanding of food safety management. Demonstrated culinary expertise with skills in food preparation techniques such as poaching, braising, grilling, and recipe adherence. Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a team dedicated to excellence for our residents. Pay:
From $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 16.0 - 32.0 per week
