About the Role Lobster Claw Seafood Restaurant in North Reading, MA is hiring a Seafood Breader / Prep Cook to join our restaurant kitchen team. This position is responsible for preparing fresh seafood, breaded seafood and prep items for the fry, grill and kitchen stations. About Lobster Claw The Lobster Claw has been a North Reading staple since 1976. We are a family owned seafood restaurant with loyal customers who have been coming back for decades. We are not a chain. We are a local institution built on quality ingredients, consistent food and genuine hospitality. In 2025, we completed a full renovation, updating our layout, kitchen flow, dining room and adding a beer and wine counter. Key Responsibilities Bread, season, portion and prepare seafood according to Lobster Claw recipes and quality standards Prepare seafood items for fry, grill, sandwich, roll, basket, plate and kitchen stations Handle seafood safely while maintaining freshness, quality and consistency Complete prep work before and during service to support smooth kitchen operations Follow recipes, prep lists, portion standards and kitchen procedures Keep the seafood prep and breading station clean, stocked and organized Follow food safety, sanitation, labeling, storage and rotation procedures Communicate with fry cooks, grill cooks, sandwich/salad staff, expo and kitchen team members Assist with stocking, cleaning, opening, closing and general kitchen duties as needed Qualifications Previous seafood, prep cook, kitchen team member or restaurant kitchen experience preferred but not required Seafood restaurant or fast paced restaurant experience strongly preferred Ability to follow recipes, prep lists, portion standards and food safety procedures Reliable transportation required U.S. work authorization required Must be at least 18 years old Strong attention to detail, cleanliness and consistency Ability to work day, night and weekend shifts as needed Strong teamwork and communication skills Compensation and Benefits Flexible scheduling Paid training Free or discounted meals Health insurance Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift up to 25 pounds Ability to bend, reach, lift, portion, prep and handle food products Ability to work around seafood, breading products, hot equipment, cold storage and standard kitchen conditions Ability to work in a fast paced restaurant kitchen Equal Opportunity Employer Lobster Claw Seafood Restaurant is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
