JOB SUMMARY

This position performs a variety of routine tasks associated with the preparation and distribution of food. The position is expected to prepare food according to written and verbal instruction in accordance with predetermined time schedules. This position will consult with their supervisor(s) about any variances from production items or levels. The position will assist in other areas to complete food preparations for the day. The position will assist other areas of the kitchen to ensure production, patient needs, and the department needs are completed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Batch Cooking Compassionately cook for patients, including a variety of therapeutic diets Produce high quality food Ability to operate food service equipment Cleaning and sanitizing food service equipment Effectively manage time Other duties as assigned This position requires full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Blessing Hospital. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values while supporting the strategic plan, goals and direction of the Performance Improvement Process (PIP) at Blessing Hospital.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training/Experience:

REQUIRED

Minimum of one year of experience with cooking from a recipe in a restaurant/professional like setting Interpersonal relationships Effective and respectful verbal communication

PREFERRED

High School graduate or equivalent

License/Certifications/Special Requirements:

Completion of Food Safety CBL within 30 days of hire
