The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. As a Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our kitchen runs smoothly by preparing ingredients and assisting in the overall food preparation process. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to food safety standards, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Prepare and chop ingredients according to recipes and menu specifications. Assist in the cooking process by preparing sauces, stocks, and other components as needed. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace. Follow food safety guidelines and ensure proper food handling techniques are adhered to at all times. Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation. Help with inventory management by tracking supplies and reporting shortages. Participate in menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas. Operate kitchen equipment safely, including knives and other food preparation tools. Requirements Previous experience in a culinary or food industry role is preferred. Knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations. Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment. Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques. Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff. A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new skills within the culinary field. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
