Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, slicers, and other culinary tools. Follow strict food safety standards in handling, storage, and sanitation to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment. Assist with menu planning by contributing ideas for new dishes and ensuring adherence to dietary guidelines. Perform food preparation tasks such as slicing, dicing, portioning, and plating with precision using proper knife skills and slicing techniques. Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas by cleaning utensils, appliances, workstations, and ensuring compliance with health regulations. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal production, special dietary needs, and timely service delivery. Qualifications Proven experience in food preparation within a restaurant or food service environment; dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus. Strong knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production. Skilled in recipe adherence, meal preparation, and operating various kitchen equipment safely. Excellent knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques for efficient food prep. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and quality. Previous catering experience or familiarity with large-scale meal production is advantageous. Effective communication skills to collaborate with kitchen staff and ensure smooth operations.
