Part Time / Hourly Role Summary We're looking for a skilled, dependable part-time cook who loves producing high-quality food from scratch and thrives in the fast-paced, deadline-driven world of event catering. You'll work alongside our culinary team to prep, produce, and execute menus for corporate events, social gatherings, weddings, and community functions of all sizes. Shifts vary based on the event calendar and may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends. Key Responsibilities Execute prep and production tasks as assigned — stocks, sauces, proteins, vegetable prep, baked goods, and plated items — all from scratch Follow recipes and plating guides precisely while maintaining EYHO quality and presentation standards Assist with day-of event setup, service line execution, and breakdown at both our commissary kitchen and off-site event venues Maintain a clean, organized workstation and adhere to all food safety and sanitation standards (Minnesota Food Handler certification required or obtained within 30 days of hire) Complete mise en place on time and communicate proactively with the Lead Chef on any challenges Handle, label, and store food product correctly — FIFO, temperature logs, allergen awareness Support the team in loading and unloading catering vehicles when needed Contribute positively to kitchen culture: be coachable, collaborative, and committed to continuous improvement Qualifications Required Minimum 1 year of professional kitchen experience (catering, restaurant, institutional, or equivalent) Solid knife skills and comfort executing a broad range of cooking techniques Ability to work efficiently and calmly under deadline pressure Reliable transportation to our commissary kitchen and event sites across the metro Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in varying temperatures Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and occasional early mornings Preferred Catering or banquet kitchen experience Familiarity with high-volume scratch cooking What We Offer Competitive hourly wage (commensurate with experience) A kitchen culture that respects your craft and your time Opportunity to grow into full-time or Lead Cook roles as the company expands
