Job Description
The Waynesville-St. Robert Senior Center is seeking a dependable, organized Head Cook to prepare nutritious meals for our senior community and oversee daily kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will have food-service experience, strong leadership skills and a commitment to maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming kitchen. Key Responsibilities Prepare and serve meals according to established menus, recipes and portions Coordinate daily food preparation and kitchen workflow Supervise and provide direction to kitchen staff and volunteers Maintain proper food temperatures and follow food-safety procedures Monitor food inventory and assist with ordering supplies Receive, inspect and properly store food and kitchen supplies Maintain a clean, organized and sanitary kitchen Complete required meal-production, temperature and inventory records Minimize food waste while maintaining consistent quality Follow all health department, sanitation and workplace-safety requirements Communicate effectively with staff, volunteers and senior center leadership Qualifications Previous cooking or food-service experience required Supervisory or lead-kitchen experience preferred Knowledge of food safety, sanitation and safe food handling Ability to follow menus, recipes and portion requirements Strong organization, communication and time-management skills Ability to work independently and lead a team Ability to stand for extended periods and perform normal kitchen duties Must be dependable and punctual Must be able to pass background and drug screenings Why Join Us? Pay:
