Job Overview Monuts is a high-volume, 99% from-scratch restaurant and bakery on Ninth Street in Durham. We have been in business for over fifteen years and are one of Durham's most beloved restaurants. We are currently hiring a full-time line cook to join our team. We care deeply about quality and consistency, and we focus on getting better every day rather than beating ourselves up over mistakes. The Role & Schedule Hours:

Full-time (38-40 hours/week)

Schedule:

Daytime only! We are closed Sundays and Mondays , and operate with no night shifts .

Shifts:

Mix of opening (6:00 AM - 2:00 PM) and closing (9:00 AM - 5:00 PM).

Duties:

Cook sandwiches, salads, and specials to order across hot and cold stations (solo on quieter weekdays, all-hands-on-deck on Fridays and Saturdays). Prep everything from scratch! We cure gravlax, make our own mayonnaise and everything else in between. Prep is a huge part of this job. Maintain strict standards for cleanliness, organization, and kitchen hygiene.

Compensation & Benefits Guaranteed Wage:

$20/hour (We are a tip-free restaurant, so you're wage is guaranteed no matter how busy we are and dependable year-round).

Profit Sharing:

Eligible after 1 year. In 2025, profit sharing added +$3.00+/hour , bringing total line cook compensation to $45,000 - $52,000/year (without working overtime, nights, Sundays, or having to manage others).

Healthcare Stipend:

Up to $250/month for health insurance or medical expenses
